- 06:30 left the marina for Atlantic City! We passed by Mike's family beach of Seaside park, and were able to see Beth and Mom waving at us :)
- DOLPHINS!!!!! we knew that there have been many sightings off of Seaside in the past week, but we were so surprised to have a couple of pods follow us for a bit! Even jump out of the water!! I was not fast enough to catch them with the camera, but it was amazong!!!
- The sail was going really well...until we hit the end of Island Beach State Park...and were swamped by evil, bitting black flies!!! By swamped, I mean over taken...seriously. No amoount of OFF or Skin So Soft would even make them move (discovered 409 will stun them though..) I even went to stern of boat to check on something, and saw a black sheet covering the boats name...so gross! about 3 hours of this, and I personally snapped! Had a breakdown and began lookingup homemade remedies for them...Oil, Vinegar, Garlic, and water...applied liberally and often (only works if wet) keeps them away...problem was I stunk horribly!!!!!
- When we finally got into Atlantic City, I was soo ready to get off the boat! The docking there is interesting...and we may have had an accident...but in our defense, we were both exhausted and cranky...and that guys anchor came out of nowhere! ha. no damage to him though (thank lawd) but our guard on the starboard side is bent severely! will do though, until Annaplois (sailing capitol)
- AC is always a good time!! We stayed at the Golden Nugget (used to be Trump Marina) and were able to walk to the boardwalk and get dinner (well deserved in our opinion)

September 02, 2012 NJ Leg 4: AC => Cape May
- Set to be another long day (10 hours), we left the dock at 06:30 for Cape May!! The damn song was stuck in my head ALL freaking day, so I shall pass onto you!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsfeEvZcTjM
- Funny story: We encountered some rougher seas (really just small 3-4 swells). Everytime we would rock a little hard, the GPS would shut off!! very frustrating!!! After the millionth time of restarting it, I decided to sit and watch the switch at the main panel shut off...to discover the key to the Fuel tank/water tank would swing...and hit the switch! I think both mike and I felt a little dumb...and relieved to find out the solution to this potential problem was soo simple! ha.
- The day began to become cloudy, but we made excellent time! Was soo fun to pass all the beaches (Sea Isle City, where I learned to walk: Ocean City Boardwalk, Wildwood Boardwalk, Avalon w. my sisters) that hold soo many memories for me!! My dad was able to see us from Sea Isle!!!! was so happy! And The Freney's even backtracked to Stone Harbor Inlet to see us sail by!!
- We made reservations at Utsch's Marina right outside the Cape May canal. They were super friendly, and cheap!!! Private showers!!! and a free bottle of wine...as a welcome!!! Love them!! As we pulled into our slip, we were greeted by other cruising couples (its like if they see a sailboat coming in, must meet sailors!) who are going to the C&D canal as well! We made friends, and spoke about meeting up the next day in Delaware City Marina (just outside the Canal)
- My Dad came over for dinner that night!! (getting spoiled with all these meals out) He has never seen/been on our boat before, so was really fun showing him my "floating" airstream!!!
- Weather reports were predicting a nasty storm coming through, so we had to leave Cape May early the next day, or not go for another 3...
just outside the C&D canal entrance
- need to get the hell off computer!! Will update today!!!
Oh my the fuel key/gps thing is hilarious!
